who are we, & what we do?
Hi this is Ali! in 2016 I found Sports Templates, using my 13 years of experience in graphic design, 3D, Branding and my love for sports aesthetics, I gathered our small sports templates team and we made it our mission to build the best sports design assets.
Templates, and mockups so small businesses and design freelancers can showcase their work and brand with a presentation on par with the big global brands in the sports industry.

What is a photoshop mockup anyways?
A photoshop mockup is a realistic digital design of an item displayed either in
isolation on a neutral background or in a set.
Mockups are three-dimensional models widely used in the proposal and design phase of a product, when it has not yet gone into manufacturing.

our Process
6-step process that goes into every template we design.
STEP 1
Research
Every template begins with collecting as much reference material as possible. We want to capture even the smallest details, and it takes a lot of work scouring image archives, video footage, and more. This Adidas jersey had 4 different collar options and 2 different shoulder cuts, so we made sure that we found representations of each variation when completing this research..
STEP 2
Cloth Simulation
Once we've wrapped up our research, we load up Marvelous Designer, cloth simulation software used by the biggest studios in the entertainment industry, the fashion world, and Triple-A video games. After we've completed the base pattern for the jersey and set our stitching and sewing lines, we begin working on the cloth simulation process... and here's where our jersey begins to take shape.
STEP 3
Sculpting Details
After we've completed the cloth simulation work, the next step is to add some of the "nitty, gritty" details: folds, creases, and other elements that affect the general form and shape of the jersey. We do this using Zbrush, which – again – is the industry standard for 3D character creation by entertainment and video game studios.
STEP 4
Texturing
Now that we have the foundation of the Jersey created, we shift to working on the materials and textures. This is where the bulk of our time goes, and why our templates look so realistic. We spend hours figuring out how we can mimic the look and feel of various fabrics and surfaces, and we don't stop until we've settled on a result that looks pretty close to the real-world reference images.
STEP 5
Lighting & Rendering
We're almost there, and close to a month since we first started working on this jersey. Now that the Adidas jersey is fully modeled and textured, we can finally move on to the lighting phase. Here we apply the same lighting techniques and scenarios that are used by real-world product photographers. Again, we want our templates to look as real and familiar as possible!
STEP 6
Photoshop composition
Now that the lighting is staged and set up, we render 13 different image passes so we can layer each in Photoshop, creating the perfect composition. Then we separate each part of the jersey, allowing it to be edited separately, and – finally – we wrap Photoshop smart objects around the jersey, which gives you the freedom and flexibility to truly make these templates your own – your colors, your designs.
